Paride Taban is a South Sudanese Catholic prelate and was the first leader of the Sudan Council of Churches, founded in February 1990.
He was Roman Catholic Bishop of Torit from 1983 to 2004. After retiring he founded the Holy Trinity Peace Village at Kuron in 2005, and was awarded the Sergio Vieira de Mello Peace Prize by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in 2013 for that work.
